New Update in TerraQuanta! Digitalization of the physical world is reflected in the digitalization of cities, farmland, rivers, road, buildings, and other scenes. Algorithms are optimized and more and more data are accumulated with the development of technology.
Recently, TerraQuanta published “TerraQuanta’s All-inclusive Open PaaS Platform.” The integration of the all-inclusive data achieves business collaboration and agile innovations, creating the base of the digital world.
We are using technology to complete our understanding of the physical world, and we believe that the digital world will grow more powerful in the future.
We are always on the way to digitalization of the physical world.
To build the search engine of the physical world, TerraQuanta’s PaaS open platform developed spatiotemporal data products facing closed-loop scenarios in more industries, such as agricultural property surveillance, agricultural disaster management, forest fire monitoring, water environment monitoring, four issues in river and lake monitoring, highway deformation monitoring, urban subsidence monitoring, geological disasters early risks detection, etc.
A case of Chengdu, Sichuan province: large-scale surface deformation and subsidence
It has been reported that dozens of major cities in the world will be submerged partially or completely in the coming decades.
In order to monitor the deformation and subsidence in the physical world, TerraQuanta uses InSAR Measuring Techniques to acquire data of land shift. This technique, compared to the traditional techniques, can acquire the land deformation data with advantages of large range, high sensitivity, traceability, strong adaptability, and not affected by weather conditions. This method is also adapted in touch-free precisive measuring, which can detect early surface deformation risks.
The picture shows the monitoring results by TerraQuanta on the belt area around the Second Ring Expressway in Chengdu, with a total area of approximately 180 square kilometers. The density of monitoring points reaches 2,000-30,000 per square kilometer, with a precision of millimeter level, which fully meets the data density requirements of road operation scenarios.
It only took 1 day for TerraQuanta to produce 6.64 million subsidence data of the whole City of Chengdu, which is made possible by our powerful computing power.
Note: Because the world is constantly changing, it is normal for any building above the surface to be displaced slightly.
[News flash] Computing power has now become a new engine for the development of digital economy. TerraQuanta attaches great value to computing power. By building our own supercomputing center and distributed systems, TerraQuanta has achieved the upgrade of computing power to fully support our AI+ spatial data service capability.
A case of Xinjiang Corps - precisive farmland damage calculation
Under the new normality of climate change, TerraQuanta needs technologies with faster response, higher monitoring frequency, and larger monitoring range to help relevant departments grasp the dynamics of disasters fully and timely. In order to meet these demands, TerraQuanta proposed a package of natural disaster monitoring data kit based on AI+ remote sensing.
The picture shows quantitative monitoring of hailstorm loss rate of farmland at block level by TerraQuanta in a certain area of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps. Clear quantitative data is provided for the loss rate of each farmland, thus making it easier for users to understand.
TerraQuanta adopts small sample learning, which can be provided by customers or collected independently by TerraQuanta. (Sample collection is done by a very special position of ours called World Explorer. Please click the link for more details.)
A case of Danzhou, Hainan: High Frequency Forest Dynamic Monitoring
A controlled deforestation happened in Danzhou, Hainan, under the supervision of the State Forestry Bureau in 2020. The distribution of forest resources can be timely understood without blind spots by means of regular satellite remote sensing, updated by TerraQuanta every month.
TerraQuanta achieves a monthly fast identification of forest change spot, on the bases of a monthly forest coverage monitoring. Multiple dozens of forest change spots were discovered from May to September in 2020, with the identification accuracy above 90%.
A case in Yangjiang, Guangdong: Multi-dimensional monitoring of water quality parameters
Multi-dimensional monitoring of water environment requires the monitoring and measurements of the contents, concentration, and variation trend of pollutants in water bodies. TerraQuanta conduct an overall evaluation on the water environment based on multiple water quality parameter, and provide the macroscopic distribution difference of the condition of the water environment, which the users can locate the “source of the pollution” easily and directly. TerraQuanta assist users in normalized water resource dynamic change monitoring, pollution source monitoring, and verification of results of pollution countermeasures.
A case in Shouguang, Shandong: Top Precision Spatial Unit Extraction
With high resolution feed and image slicing technology, TerraQuanta can automatically extract units of greenhouses and other agricultural properties, quickly obtaining the distribution, quantity, area and other spatial information about the greenhouses.
Tens of thousands of greenhouses were flooded in Shandong province under the influence of the hurricane in August, 2019. TerraQuanta was able to provide services such as taking inventory of affected greenhouses and disaster monitoring of these greenhouses with previously mentioned technology.
A case in Qi County, Henan: Highly Available Emergency Disaster Response
In late July 2021, multiple locations in Henan provide experienced heavy rainstorm, which flooded many farmlands, especially in Qi County. TerraQuanta obtained the flooded area by overlaying the water coverage area map during flood period with the base map to get a grip on the disaster situation, and obtained quickly the flooded cultivated land and its area information by overlaying the local cultivated land distribution data.
The picture is the cultivated land identification and flood monitoring of Qi County, and the data were used by the “Focus Interview” program on September 23, 2021. TerraQuanta can not only monitor scopes of disasters, but also identify the impact on specific ground objects such as cultivated land and single crop varieties, covering multiple disasters including flood, drought, frost, hailstorm, etc.
An open ability is a useful ability
For a long time, TerraQuanta believes that an open ability is a useful ability. Our users can view, log in, and use data products of TerraQuanta in many ways. Based on the PaaS open platform, users can easily integrate data products into websites or systems, achieving a seamless information docking.
On the basis of multi-source data acquisition, TerraQuanta realizes automatic data processing pipeline, and utilizes autonomous and controllable high-performance computing capability to produce standardized spatiotemporal data products. At the same time, TerraQuanta has designed supporting SDK and API for standardized spatiotemporal data products. Therefore, users can feel the unprecedented convenience when using data products.
SDK: Only 7 lines of code away from full stack capability
TerraQuanta utilizes a new and flexible delivery method. If the user does not want to invest energy in the development of map applications and complex functions such as processing map rendering effects, one can use the standardized spatiotemporal data SDK integration component provided by TerraQuanta. Seven lines of code can complete the front-end application of spatiotemporal data without any trained personnels in map application development.
The example in the video is a plot-level precise agricultural production management of the terraces in Loufan County, Taiyuan. Because of the special ground features of the terraces and the highly fragmented plots of Loufan County, it is of great practical significance and also many technical difficulties to monitor growth based on plot division for agricultural precise monitoring.
It took less than 10 hours to realize the two-year plot level growth monitoring of the whole county, from plot division to growth calculation.
API: Lego-style Spatial Data Tile service
In addition to SDK embedding, we can also provide Lego-like spatial data tiling services. Similar to Lego stacking parts, TerraQuanta can provide a standardized solution for publishing digital map services using predefined map blocks.
TerraQuanta puts more data processing operations such as layer stacking on the client side, so as to relieve the pressure of data processing on the GIS server side and improve user experience.
Shown in the video is the crop monitoring of plot-level crops in E'ergetuzhen with layer overlapping, using high-resolution remote sensing image and image segmentation technology to automatic extract cultivated land area of the block boundary, and complete the crop classification. The quantity of plot distribution of sorghum, corn, sugar beets, millet, potato, and other plots is clearly visible.
Billed by demand, charged by usage
Surely, you are starting to wonder about our billing mode and cost. Different from the billing mode of traditional spatial data services that prices vary from project to project, the open PaaS platform by TerraQuanta uses a standardized charging method, billed by demand and charged by usage, with the price clear and fixed.
For example, the pricing is 50 CNY per square kilometer for a year, and if the user only needs the monitoring data for 2 square kilometer, our price would be 100 CNY per year.
The newly launched TerraQuanta open PaaS platform starts with basic technology, meets the market demands, and hopes to provide a better spatial data service for our clients.
All the above trial cases can be obtained from our official website. With the launch of the updated version of TerraQuanta PaaS open platform, TerraQuanta’s official website also has a brand new look.
